Our custom mouthguards will:

  • Stay in your mouth, thanks to their great fit
  • Protect your teeth from damage, including cracks and breaks
  • Be comfortable to wear, so you won’t be tempted to leave them out at game time

Our dentists can also design custom nightguards to stop destructive teeth grinding and help you get a better night’s sleep. They can also create custom bleaching trays to use with teeth whitening treatments. If you’re interested in a custom mouthguard, call 423-454-2181.

Advanced Technology Ensures You Get a Mouthguard That Fits

In sports equipment, few things are as important as a good fit. Just as you wouldn’t run a marathon in shoes that don’t fit, you shouldn’t wear an ill-fitting mouthguard. Many “boil and bite” mouthguards purchased from sporting goods stores require you to submerge them in boiling water to soften them, then use your fingers and tongue to mold them around your teeth. Not surprisingly, this often results in a poor fit.

We take impressions of your teeth and other measurements, then use sophisticated design software and a machine that allows us to manufacture your custom mouthguard right in our office. Most other dentists outsource the production to an outside lab. No more waiting days – or even longer – for a mouthpiece that perfectly fits your mouth.

Take Good Care of Your Custom Mouthguard

Your custom mouthguard is made of durable materials and should last for several years with proper care. You’ll get the maximum amount of wear out of it if you:

  • Clean your mouthguard every time you wear it. Use mild soapy water or a soft toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste.
  • Never let anyone else wear your mouthguard.
  • Avoid leaving it in the sun or otherwise exposing it to high temperatures.
  • Make sure it’s dry before storing. Keep it in a sturdy container with ventilation holes so air can get to it.
  • Bring it with you to dental exams so we can make sure it’s in good shape.
